To import shipments into the United States, a “Licensed Customs Broker” must be appointed to facilitate the process between Customs and the importer.
Unlike other companies, and forwarders, FNS has this license internally. This means that the Customs process is controlled "in-house” and not contracted out to a third party.
This ensures faster turn-around and better control of the process.
In addition to our six staffed Licensed Customs Brokers, FNS employs five Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) and fourteen customs broker agents.
The CCS designation is an industry recognized standard demonstrating progressive knowledge suited to proper import compliance.
The CCS is earned via the National Customs Brokers and Freight
Forwarders Association (NCBFAA) by attending NCBFAA sponsored events covering critical aspects of the import process.
